Lisa Lehane joined VanderLeek Law in September 2022 as an Associate Lawyer. Her life experience has made her an asset to the team in a short time, and her desire to connect with her clients has already resulted in some strong client relationships.
Lisa attended law school at the University of Alberta and was called to the bar in 2009. She articled and worked at Miller Lehane & Wild LLP where she practiced in a variety of areas including real estate, oil and gas, and wills and estates. In 2011 Lisa and her family moved overseas to Luanda, Angola, Africa and then to Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania where she volunteered at numerous out-reach organizations who worked with some of the most vulnerable populations in her community. During this time, she also co-founded a non-profit organization for international humanitarian work. Returning to Canada in 2014, Lisa volunteered with Calgary Legal Guidance, a cause close to her heart, helping their mission of advocating for those who find themselves within the legal system without resources. Her work with the Elder Law department drew her to look further into Trusts and Estates.
Now working with VanderLeek Law, Lisa finds herself assisting her clients in their estate planning and administration, finding solutions for families who have children living with disabilities and enjoying the unique circumstances of each file.
When not at work, Lisa loves spending time with her husband and 3 children getting out of the city hiking the back country areas of Alberta, or riding horseback whenever she can.
